had my first show

had my first show
you might wonder how'd it go
well it could've been better
the audience couldn't have been thinner
we played a few standards
songs we knew well
we could rely on those
when it all goes to hell
and some new equipment
pedals and stuff
although the cool sounds
seem to have all been a bluff
i didnt practice
and it showed
but did anyone catch it
i dont know
we ran through new stuff
and some of it worked
i felt like some of this stuff was a bluff
tired on stage i was overworked
it was my first paying show
she'd gotten quite a few
im older so it makes me feel kinda weird
to know that for me its new
but she's cool she's really great
she put this all together
if she hadn't gotten on myspace
our next show would've been never
i suppose it was something that was quite decent
even though we didnt bring a crowd
it was a first and thats something good
something that can make me proud
but ive got eleven more to go to catch her up
and i think im gonna try
we'll get another one in a week or so
joy enough to make you smile
my sister came out
and so did her brother
it didn't seem like
it was too much of a bother
so that's pretty good
and though we broke even
we handed out demos
it'll soon be our season
