headphone'd laptop girl
sitting on the floor
playing on computer screen
sits there for hours
she does it to help the band
and gets us lots of shows
we've got two now yeah
we're really on a roll
betty boop'd and black jersey
glasses beaten up
cool hair and cute face
she's my buttercup
sittin on the carpet orange
reading myspace pages
surrounded by messy things
she gets us on the stages
blink and type and shrug and sigh
there isn't much to do
but stare and type occasionally
tense up and type too
scratch the foot and stare some more
right hand on the mouse
type away a little bit
not a sound heard in the house
click goes the keyboard sound
and eyes trained deadly straight
scroll down the pages scanning
for some useful dates
sun is up but she crouches down
in a little ball
working her fingers to the bone
maybe we'll go to the mall
scratch the side and focus hard
she keeps her eyes trained
stares at the myspace page
soon she'll be drained
ate a bowl of cereal
not too long ago
slurped it down with crunchy bits
cuts through my dayton woe
look real hard and type alot
that seems to work
i dont want her overdoing it
being our bands clerk
