so many people gettin pulled over
it doesnt see mright to me
i dont feel like im guilty
just because my skin is brown im still free
anyone who thinks im wrong is crazy
they feel like we should be caged and watched
i feel like they should be kept from power
we should make sure their plans are botched
appeal to your friends and neighbors
show them youre just like them
dont be a stranger get out in the community
a changed mind is a true life gem
we sit indoors and feel paranoid
we expect the whites to beat us
i feel like thats self sabotage
i feel like our fear reveals us
if we want to be successful we've got to be free to act
you can't make a decision with your hands tied
people who don't stay on top of their game get sacked
if you lost enough then soon dreams died
we have to keep our minds clear if we want to live free
we can't be held down by any problems
people are always going to try and bring us down
they find joy in making our lives full of dulldrums
we need to find those that find it revolting to act that way
and make those are friends thats our best bet
we cant stay isolated indoors alone
its time we got together and made sure shits set
its time we stopped thinking of race as a source of information
we can't consider it to be any kind of indication
we've got to start being real about this
that is if we want true life bliss
i want to just live free and peaceful
i think most agree that goals wonderful
lets make sure we dont go down the wrong path
lets not regret things when we get to the aftermath
i want to make sure the next generation is taken care of
we need to make sure they have more guidance than we did
make sure to show them lots of attention and love
and make sure they don't hide like we hid
its time we came out of the shadows and stepped into the light
we need to start living our dreams while we're still alive
death is the true oppressor noone can hide from
lets make sure that nothing stands in our way when we're in line for the ride
