the way these companies seem to feel

the way these companies seem to feel
as if we're just their pawns
is strange as hell doesn't many any sense
we're paying their bills after all
they are our subservients they do our bidding
they clearn our toilets so to speak
what right do they have to rise up against
and control our lives every dip and peak
these people are crazy and governments bought
and fairness just doesn't seem the way
and so many people have been served fines
way more than they can pay
the children who download innocently
are notthe same as murderers
they don't deserve a fine or jail time
it's just a sign of change murmers
they say history repeats itself
and this was how they reacted to cassette
it allowed people to make new copies
stopped ceos from buying corvettes
but a good business man will ride the tide
and change his model with time
that allows him to stay on top
helps him keep his gold mine
but these music fellows are lazy fat cats
can't adpot a new model
it's too ahrd for them to thinkone up
burned out music boom bubble
the freedom to choose how you spent your time
is one i find inherent
and i don't feel a court or any judge
can prove to me it's advent
no this freedom is intrinsic and we are infringed
the copyright a handcuff
protected by paper stamped with government ink
its all one big courtroom bluff
these people all know they can't stem the tide
technology pushes on regardless
they try as they may to sue and hide
but eventually they'll be pennyless
so instead of making potential customers disgruntled
perhaps greet customers with a smile
after all
we're planning on staying awhile
