where are the indian kids playing rock and roll
seems to me these kids dont got no soul
they just sit around piss and home
because their mom and dad want them alone
these kids seem destined to be doctors in my eyes
doesnt seem like they can see through parents lies
they just seem to be predestined to live out their lives
with arranged marriages and unloved wives
meant to go to college and study
meant to find other indians to be buddy buddy
supposed to go and learn about dance
indian kids are afraid to be cuddly
taught to stand straight and study at school
groomed for the life of a conservative fool
in their parents minds their kids are their jewels
and life is constantly bound by rules
it seems like kids dont ever get a chance
to live life free and experience romance
as they grow older their artistic hopes dashed
forced into another bhangra dance
the music and language are ever present
signs of a land that isn't visually evident
teaching views that just arent current
encouraged at 30 to remain at parents residence
time doesnt fave these kids
they get married off one by one
and the path of least resistance
is to become what their wants want
who are these kids really
have they ever wondered
what they might be
if they'd not surrendered
they give up so much
just to do what their parents say
lose their imagination and their life
just to follow the indian way
its such a strange thing
when parents force things like this
living in a country named america
why force kids through indian shit
a little bit of culture does no harm
but locking kids in basements does
accept your children for what they become
and it'll be better than it ever was
