the car was our home
as we drove along
on the long lonely road
listening to icelandic song
and we sung our own ones
as we had our chances
in the hotel rooms
midnight romances
had a few drinks
and a few swims
water was quite neat
saw cars with cool rims
sex on the balconey
and roomservice ordered
visited familiar faces
fun and depression often bordered
but we saw a great deal
and walked on the beach
collected sea shells
and the water once out of reach
later in florida we dove in
and waded rather deep
that seemed to be anitas goal
but to me i'd rather sleep
none the less i sanded out
and got completely drenched
she was glad and smiling big
me with fists clenched
and now we're here back in the spot
the carpeted floor basement
the trees knocked over still from before
and the stump grows to our amazement
theres men outside nothing new there
working away on something
not sure what theyre working on
but its probably better than nothing
and the new car craze my dads in
seems to be unrelenting
always asking about the minis
and as yet unconvincing
we'll move soon if things go well
bostons shores call us
revere beach had some amazing moments
so i dont see why there's fuss.
