darkness endures in the basement cold

darkness endures in the basement cold
there's things on the ground and i'm feeling bold
the cops seem to be in our neighborhood
but they're doing far more than they ever really should
pulling you over for driving home
questioning you and making you groan
is this a good use of my own money
trying to pay this guy is rather funny
they dont deserve our payment for this
this isnt what we intended
the police are working a little overactive
and if this continues ill call their superintendant
they should know better than to bother random people
no crime committed so whats the big deal
i dont see why a person cant drive a car
i havent given up that right yet jar
but yet they stare and it seems strange
what gives them flight and gives them wings
the gas in engines paid for by people
and cars ponished clean without any dings
this for what, the bothering of the public?
is this really what they trained themselves for
there's better things they can do with their time
they need to search for something more
perhaps a boring night is just that
law of course only matters after the fact
preventative law is kinda against us
we're all about freedom of all types in the US
so dont try and play the intimidation game
youre not qualified for that kind of raid
so trying to poke and pull us around
is just something that makes you look like a made
take off the frock and put on the uniform
make sure you know what youre doing
dont bother with people who havent done wrong
and then you'll make good measure of who youre screwing
yes understand tickets can be a pain
but they dont solve at all the crime game
especially when the ticket is for people
driving their car home, for real
there's better ways to spend cop dollars
cop cars and hours need to be handled
and if they arent its an immense waste
laws protect but only after youre manhandled.
