dude says get over it
but im thinkin why the fuck should i
this is after all
the legacy of my life
she's like why you wanna go
back over to that fuckin place
i guess she does't understand
my kinda headspace
porblem is people dont get where im comin from
its not a pretty place
got taken far away
from my familiar space
dumped in a foreign land
with a note in my hand
walkin into class
no longer in demand
kids'd laugh if i walked down halls
swearin i looked funny
i can't control what my folks make me wear
that shit could make your tears runnie
and the chick'd play jokes
and grab my leg
but they'd never be around
for dates even when begged
the one that said yes
she was kindof strange
but she was brown skin
she was in my range
we held hands
talked a bit
she said i had hairy legs
and that was the end of that shit
back home it was so different
the kids with the uniform
we played our sports with pride
and people wouldn't even realize they'd comformed...
we had pride and history
the ground was ancient stone
hundreds of years of students
made you feel meaning in your bones
fourteen years and people forget
no home there any longer
just a burning desire to get out east
on the cobblestone streets we'll wander
