blackburn was my first spot
the one i remember
we had a couple houses
soft snow december
friend down the street
good food to eat
with icecream men
and video cars back then
milk men delivered
that was sweet
and we'd go out
have a pizza treat
soccer was big
and so was cricket
the aim back then
was to hit a wicket
and if you were up to bat
try not to hit it over
if its gone
we've got to send sammy over
video games were big
i had a system so did my friend
we'd walk over
play again and again
it was good stuff
we had a doubel family
them down there us up here
they kept it orderly
and the uniform code of the school
kept us looking like fools
but we enojyed it garters and stuff
tellin the truth not a bluff
blacktop playground and pogs and teams
we'd play hard and let out screams
PE class on hardwood floor
play games we'd never done before
and when i visit its all the same
things havend really changed
cept the kids are at school
and im the music fool
i want to film it
but we'll see
