my dad was born in india

my dad was born in india
he lived there long ago
65 years old today
that's certainly a long way to go
he started out there
and stayed for 31 years
got his education
grew out his beard
then went over to england
and stayed for 20 more
that's where i was born
of tolkienesque lore
then out to the states
for about fourteen
not that great of a place
if you know what i mean
but he's done alot
in his time around
traveled a bunch
and loud packs of hounds
taken alot of flights
and quite a few drives
i remember those
from when i was five
i used to live
with him in the 90s
my mom n sis
to them we were back east
omlette mornings
and bachelor pad
married to a wife
she made me mad
crisps and trains
and toys for me
rainbow rain
and soccer cleats
culdesac
and trilevel house
tropical rains
and a household mouse
perhaps ill convince him
to take another trip
one more left
of the mug he takes a sip
