the televisions on

the televisions on
and the cider's poured
beds comfy
and the lady's ignored
windows are closed
and the airs cold
the air conditioning
seems pretty old
my girls out gone
she's out at the place
gettin clothes done
at a reasonable pace
a man yesterday
asked us our opinion
tryin to get a cheap spot
but we didnt know of one
the snarls and stares
are everywhere
you can't escape 'em
its not quite fair
but as we sit
in the room
we wonder about
what to do
and times pass slow
when youve got nothing to do
but they say boredom
can make you do something new
alot of films
have been made when theyre bored
and i guess thats key
could be your own lord
luxery here
is everywhere
and its not worth the cash
and its really not fair
the old streets
are bumpy as fuck
and theyre not worth the preservation
but might be good luck
and the towns pretty old
the people pretty weird
we'll walk around town
probably feared.

the vaccuum's started

the vaccuum's started
as the lady's comin
better beware
if you're slummin
the streets outside
covered with people
seldem seen
are the church steeples
the benches in parks
dogs on leashes
the people of here
are of a different species
you cant be friendly
theyre all trying to stare
snarling faces
pasted everywhere
everythings old
the rules are strict
feel kinda bored
as they issue an edict
the foods expensive
and not that great
comes from the sea
a fishy fate
the nets that get 'em
cast in the morning
sailors out
never caught snoring
theyve got old boats
big sailing ships
walk on streets
just like this
grab a bite
and have a word
they like to fight
mums the word
play the pubs
and leave by ten
they dont want you
ever again
and thats the way
they like it here
keep your head down
live in fear
