ringin in the ears
got out the studio
gathered up the tears
played the old songs
for my old friend
kinda decent stuff
when you look at it in the end
but it wasn't quite as good
not quite what i'd hoped for
but you know me
always wanting more
i just think i could do better
kinda makes me wanna quit
but anita thinks different
says don't give a shit
so im trying it her way
with ringing ears
though i'd be better off
not focusing on past years
scratched my head
and kinda know why
im learnin about myself
complicated guy
icelands beckoning
im behind a desk
but by my reckoning
you could call this a test
college is calling
anita's taking note
she wants a degree
i'd prefer a boat
we've gotta make this work
i felt the connection
can't let that go
time for correction
perhaps we'll stay
maybe we'll go
wherever we are
hard work for sho
and in the end
with our accolades shining
we'll be smiling
and good fortunes compiling
